A reprieve. The value of empty space.
The value of empty space…
One of the biggest traps of the age of information is that it fills all of our in between space.
Instead of walking in silence in the woods, driving alone in the car and letting your thoughts meander, or resting in the sun and allowing ourselves to simply muse or dream, we have a podcast on or an audible book or some form of stimulation.
It’s wonderful to hear people’s journeys and stories as we find inspiration in their sharing and can learn from their studies and learnings, and while I’d argue the particular way you synthesize the information you consume has it's own element of innovation, we are seeing increasing amounts of regurgitation of information, in a time that is calling for invention of the new.
The excess information is also taking a toll on us in exorbitant ways. People's minds and nervous systems are shutting down. People feel ungrounded, disconnected and out of control. I see this increasingly with children and the struggle they are going through to find roots in an intensely overstimulated world.
In the silence, in nature when we are able to relax our senses, answers we are seeking come, inner truths and awarenesses reveal themselves, direction unfolds, a sense of safety and rootedness embraces us, and the new ways of being we all crave become clear.
It's on us to create time for the empty space that allows this all to come through.
This May's retreat in Cornwall will provide just that. Reprieve from the chaos and opportunity for you to dive deep into your truth and those untapped innate abilities longing to come out.
New local and online offerings comings soon. I’ve been on my own reprieve =)
